Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why do you require a non-refundable deposit?

We ask for a non-refundable deposit to ensure that our customers are serious about their booking. This deposit helps us avoid last-minute cancellations that take away opportunities from other customers. If you’re committed to having a great holiday, we want to make sure we are fully prepared to give you the best experience. However, if you’re uncertain or not ready to book, please take your time before reserving your motorhome. The deposit secures your booking and confirms your dates, so you can plan with confidence.

2. What is included with the motorhome rental?

Your rental includes:

  • Fully equipped kitchen (fridge, oven, hob, cutlery, and utensils)
  • Bathroom facilities (toilet, shower)
  • Entertainment features (TV)
  • Unlimited mileage and UK/EU breakdown cover
  • Essentials such as a kettle, toaster, and more!

Optional add-ons like bedding and a food hamper are available for an additional fee.

3. What documents do I need to send to rent a motorhome?

We’ll need the following documents dated within 3 months of the trip:

  • A valid driving licence held for at least 2 years (please bring both parts if applicable)
  • Two forms of ID with your address (such as utility bills dated within 90 days of the trip) to confirm your address.

4. What happens if my plans change?

If you need to change your travel dates, let us know as soon as possible. We’ll do our best to accommodate your new dates, but please be aware that the deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel, the deposit will be retained to cover administrative costs and lost opportunities.

5. Can I drive a motorhome on a standard car licence?

Yes! All our motorhomes can be driven with a standard UK Category B driving licence, provided you’ve held it for at least 2 years. If you have any points on your licence, please inform us ahead of time, as additional insurance may be required.

26. Should I take out deposit protection insurance for my motorhome hire?

Deposit or excess protection is optional and is not provided or arranged by Yorkshire Motorhome Rentals. InsureCarHire is one independent provider customers may wish to consider. Its excess-protection policy only pays when the damage cost exceeds £1,000 and the claim proceeds through the vehicle’s main insurance. It does not cover damage costing £1,000 or less. Check the provider’s current policy wording and eligibility before purchasing.

27. Do I need travel insurance for my motorhome trip?

Travel insurance is optional and separate from the breakdown cover included with your hire. Depending on the policy, it may cover cancellation, illness, medical expenses, travel disruption and belongings. Do not assume it covers the hired motorhome or every consequence of a breakdown. Check the insurer’s current terms, destinations, duration limits, pre-existing-condition rules and exclusions. Read our travel insurance and breakdown cover guide.
